Fundraising

Find out how you can help

As a registered charity we rely on voluntary income to help us deliver and keep developing our specialised services for people whose lives are affected by mental illness. It currently costs on average £5,700 per day to provide our specialist nursing care and support services.

The level of specialist care our service users need is only partly supported by payments from social and health care agencies, and in order to cover all of the costs and provide consistently high quality care, we have to raise funds from other sources. Fundraising therefore is a necessary part of our work, enabling us to meet the complex needs of those referred to our care, and we are very fortunate to enjoy the support of relatives and carers who help us with our fundraising.

Help us make a difference

Fundraised income is also used to help maintain service accommodation and gardens, to purchase specialist equipment, and to provide social activities and outings which add to people’s quality of life. It also allows us to keep on developing our services in line with the latest advancements in mental health care so people in the North East can be assured of the best care available.

With 1 in 4 people suffering from a mental health problem at some point in their life, and with an aging population presenting a forecast increase in people suffering from dementias, it is not surprising that the need for specialist mental health care services such as ours is growing, and this is particularly evident here in the North East.

In response to this, we are now increasing our pro-active fundraising activity so we can fully meet the mental health needs of our communities, now and in the future, and to ensure that we can continually develop and innovate to maximise quality of life for those in our care.

Voluntary and community support comes in all shapes and sizes from donations to volunteering, from fundraising events to corporate sponsorship and from gifts in-kind to grants.
